The German Yacht magazine ownership became Verlag Klasing & Co Ltd.'s. on 6th September in 1923; there was published an essay about the 30m2 class, the L-Boot’s original in the new Yacht magazine (35/36 publishing).
The thought which is still interests the designers has already published in the previous century about in the 20’s. Designers were dreaming about a boat which is suitable for single had sailing (Nachmittagsboat).
“When the boat was born the length was the most major factor so it developed a new independent class. Due to the restrictions in construction the “L 30” still bears the original characteristic.
The first “L 30”s were shorter and designed for moderated breeze which’s waterline is was about 5-5,5m and the length of the deck was under 7 meters. According to these numbers its buoyancy was minimal just like its weight which did not exceed 1000kg. 16 “L 30” was built at all in the first year; in 1914.”
“In autumn of 1916 in the championship through the war a new boat appeared called Brigitte Hactsche which proved this class’s raison d'étre. Its characteristic feature is the bigger buoyancy the increased length near the waterline, meanwhile its lateral area is shorter its stern is wider. A successful winning streak had had to begin after the war for this boat type.
W.v. Hacht’s name is connoted with the boat’s fantastic construction.”
